Shira Shaked, Piano - Biography

A versatile performer in multiple genres, Shira Shaked’s career highlights include performances with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Pavel Vernikov and an ongoing collaboration with Maxim Vengerov. Her playing has resonated through the halls of the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv, Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York and the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., and her talent has been instrumental on recordings by renowned Israeli poet Nathan Zach and guitarist-composer Yair Yona.

RED is Shira Shaked’s debut release of solo piano recordings, an emotionally charged recital program accomplished through blood (figurative), sweat and tears (literal).

​Mentored by Gilbert Kalish, Shira recently earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Stony Brook University. Prior to moving to New York, Shira studied with prominent professors Mark Shaviner and Michael Boguslavsky at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music and Vadim Monastyrski at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
